                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Sandra Kay Rodesney is one individual who can truly

 1-2     say that she's given this place the best years of her life, for she

 1-3     will soon mark nearly two decades of jumping through flaming

 1-4     legislative hoops and performing various other death-defying acts

 1-5     under the big top; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, Ms. Rodesney, a.k.a. "The Boss," is a revered figure

 1-7     in the office of Representative Robert Puente, having brought to

 1-8     her post a wealth of valuable knowledge and expertise that she

 1-9     garnered during her tenure on the staffs of Senator Jack Ogg and

1-10     Representative Alex Moreno; not one to believe in silly

1-11     superstitions, Sandy is rumored to defiantly walk underneath

1-12     ladders, break mirrors, and cross the paths of black cats, which

1-13     may in part account for her current boss's reluctance to run for

1-14     higher office at this time; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Though she has long been a beloved member of the

1-16     legislative community, some of her colleagues have wondered how in

1-17     20 years' time she has somehow managed to avoid setting foot on the

1-18     house floor during session; those who know her best note that she

1-19     prefers instead to seek out the floor at Guero's, where her

1-20     political agenda is limited to ordering El Presidente; and

1-21           WHEREAS, If the early bird does indeed catch the worm, then

1-22     Ms. Rodesney could soon set up her own bait shop, for throughout

1-23     her long and distinguished tenure, she has arrived at the Capitol

1-24     each day at approximately 7 a.m. ready to tackle the pressing

 2-1     issues of the day while lesser folk are still struggling to down

 2-2     their first cups of coffee; and

 2-3           WHEREAS, Outside the office, she is the beloved mother of

 2-4     Angela Rodesney, who will soon turn 21 years of age, despite her

 2-5     mother's apparent connection to the fountain of youth;  in her

 2-6     spare time, Ms. Rodesney enjoys toiling away in her yard in the hot

 2-7     Texas sun, and her proven ability to be able to take the heat and

 2-8     withstand shifting winds and other adverse conditions has made her

 2-9     a natural to nurture her professional growth in the legislative

2-10     environment; now, therefore, be it

2-11           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

2-12     Legislature hereby commend Sandra Kay Rodesney on her many years of

2-13     outstanding service to the State of Texas and extend to her sincere

2-14     best wishes for many more years of continued fulfillment as a lifer

2-15     in the big house; and, be it further

2-16           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-17     prepared for Ms. Rodesney as an expression of high regard by the

2-18     Texas House of Representatives.
