R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, It has long been the custom of the Texas House of

 1-2     Representatives to honor the children and grandchildren of its

 1-3     members by electing them to the office of mascot; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Following each session, a composite photograph is

 1-5     prepared and hung in the house chamber to commemorate the members

 1-6     and mascots who served in that legislative session; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, In accordance with procedures of the House

 1-8     Administration Committee, those members who are elected to office

 1-9     by special election during the interim following a regular session

1-10     are entitled to be included in a supplemental composite photograph,

1-11     as are their children and grandchildren who have been selected to

1-12     serve as honorary mascots; and

1-13           WHEREAS, A supplemental composite has not yet been prepared

1-14     for the interim periods that occurred from the end of the 68th

1-15     Regular Session to the beginning of the 75th Legislative Session,

1-16     and the preparation of such a photograph would lend suitable

1-17     recognition to those individuals who have so ably served this

1-18     state, as well as their children and grandchildren; now, therefore,

1-19     be it

1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-21     Legislature hereby authorize the House Administration Committee to

1-22     name and place mascots on the supplemental composite photograph

1-23     being prepared for the period beginning May 31, 1983, and extending

1-24     through January 13, 1997; and, be it further

 2-1           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-2     prepared for the chair of the House Administration Committee.
