R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Oran Egger is retiring from his position as 1-2 principal of Jim Ned Elementary School in Buffalo Gap, Texas, 1-3 bringing to a close a distinguished career as an educator and 1-4 administrator that has spanned more than four decades; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A native of Brownwood, he was graduated from Divide 1-6 High School and pursued his higher education at Texas Tech 1-7 University, earning his bachelor's and master's degrees from that 1-8 fine institution; and 1-9 WHEREAS, On May 30, 1997, this remarkable Texan will give up 1-10 his post as principal at Jim Ned Elementary School, a position he 1-11 has held since 1988, and during his time in that demanding capacity 1-12 he has consistently placed the needs of the children in his care 1-13 above all other considerations; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Prior to his tenure as principal, Mr. Egger taught 1-15 vocational agriculture at Jim Ned High School for 30 years, and in 1-16 recognition of his extraordinary achievements as an educator, the 1-17 school's agriculture complex was named for him in 1988; and 1-18 WHEREAS, He has been supported in his endeavors by his 1-19 devoted wife, Gloria, and he now looks forward with great 1-20 anticipation to sharing more time with her, their children Ora Jean 1-21 and Stan, and other family members; and 1-22 WHEREAS, For 43 years, Oran Egger has tirelessly devoted his 1-23 time and energy to the betterment of students in Buffalo Gap, and 1-24 as he begins his well-deserved retirement, he can indeed look back 2-1 with tremendous pride and satisfaction on his exemplary career as a 2-2 teacher and administrator; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby congratulate Oran Egger on his exceptional 2-5 tenure as a teacher and principal and extend to him sincere best 2-6 wishes for a happy and rewarding retirement; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-8 prepared for Mr. Egger as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-9 House of Representatives.
