R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Cherice Cochrane of Girl Scout Troop 375 in San 1-2 Antonio has earned that organization's prestigious Gold Award, and 1-3 this notable distinction is truly worthy of special praise and 1-4 recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Girl Scouting's highest honor, the Gold Award is 1-6 given to young women who have demonstrated excellence in the areas 1-7 of leadership, community service, career planning, and personal 1-8 development, and the rigorous standards necessary to qualify for 1-9 this honor ensure that those who achieve it are among scouting's 1-10 elite; and 1-11 WHEREAS, For her Gold Award project, called "Safe at Home," 1-12 Ms. Cochrane educated latchkey children in home safety precautions 1-13 and correct responses to emergency situations, and this valuable 1-14 initiative has greatly benefited her fellow San Antonians; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Cherice Cochrane has distinguished herself as a 1-16 young woman of intelligence and ability whose remarkable 1-17 accomplishments as a Girl Scout point to a future bright with 1-18 promise, and it is indeed fitting at this time to recognize this 1-19 notable young Texan; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby congratulate Cherice Cochrane on receiving the 1-22 Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for 1-23 continued success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it 1-24 further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for Ms. Cochrane as an expression of high regard by the 2-3 Texas House of Representatives.
