R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Lindsey Keys of Girl Scout Troop 375 in San Antonio 1-2 has earned that organization's prestigious Gold Award, and this 1-3 notable distinction is truly worthy of special praise and 1-4 recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Girl Scouting's highest honor, the Gold Award is 1-6 given to young women who have demonstrated excellence in the areas 1-7 of leadership, community service, career planning, and personal 1-8 development, and the rigorous standards necessary to qualify for 1-9 this honor ensure that those who achieve it are among scouting's 1-10 elite; and 1-11 WHEREAS, For her Gold Award project, called "Reading 1-12 Rainbow," Ms. Keys organized a reading incentive program and a free 1-13 book fair for first graders at Gates Elementary School, and this 1-14 valuable initiative has greatly benefited her fellow San Antonians; 1-15 and 1-16 WHEREAS, Lindsey Keys has distinguished herself as a young 1-17 woman of intelligence and ability whose remarkable accomplishments 1-18 as a Girl Scout point to a future bright with promise, and it is 1-19 indeed fitting at this time to recognize this notable young Texan; 1-20 now, therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-22 Legislature hereby congratulate Lindsey Keys on receiving the Girl 1-23 Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for 1-24 continued success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it 2-1 further 2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-3 prepared for Ms. Keys as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-4 House of Representatives.
