                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Adrian Nelson has completed the rigorous

 1-2     requirements necessary to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, and this

 1-3     accomplishment is certainly worthy of special praise and

 1-4     recognition; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, A valued member of Troop 22 in Saginaw, Eagle Scout

 1-6     Nelson has been involved in scouting since 1992; during his five

 1-7     years as a scout, he has successfully achieved the many goals and

 1-8     projects necessary to advance through scouting's ranks, earning

 1-9     accolades from his troop leader and setting a winning example for

1-10     his fellow scouts; and

1-11           WHEREAS, In addition to earning the 11 merit badges required

1-12     to be considered for Eagle Scout status, this remarkable young man

1-13     has earned 18 additional badges, encompassing a wide range of

1-14     subjects, such as railroading, family life, wilderness survival,

1-15     and archery; and

1-16           WHEREAS, For his Eagle Scout project, this noteworthy

1-17     individual organized and directed a bicycle safety program for

1-18     Saginaw and the surrounding communities; by recommending the use of

1-19     proper safety equipment for cyclists and encouraging the obeyance

1-20     of the rules of the road for motorists and cyclists alike,

1-21     Mr. Nelson has helped to make Saginaw safer for all of its

1-22     citizens; and

1-23           WHEREAS, A member of the National Honor Society, Eagle Scout

1-24     Nelson is well respected by his high school peers; in addition to

 2-1     his pursuit of academic excellence and his avid participation in

 2-2     scouting, he enjoys playing basketball with his friends and

 2-3     classmates; and

 2-4           WHEREAS, This commendable young man is a constant source of

 2-5     pride to his family and friends, who will no doubt be especially

 2-6     proud when they gather together to celebrate his Eagle Scout Court

 2-7     of Honor, and it is a privilege to join them in honoring Mr. Nelson

 2-8     for this significant achievement; now, therefore, be it

 2-9           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

2-10     Legislature hereby congratulate Adrian Nelson on attaining the rank

2-11     of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued

2-12     success and happiness in all his future endeavors; and, be it

2-13     further

2-14           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-15     prepared for Mr. Nelson as an expression of high regard by the

2-16     Texas House of Representatives.
