R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, On April 26, 1997, Pete Pruneda and Polly Ann McCann

 1-2     embarked on a new and exciting journey in their life together when

 1-3     they were united as husband and wife at Central Christian Church in

 1-4     Austin; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Honors graduates of Southwest Texas State

 1-6     University, the couple met at the school's Phi Alpha Delta pre-law

 1-7     fraternity; over the next few years, their blossoming relationship

 1-8     grew in mutual respect, affection, and understanding, and on

 1-9     Valentine's Day, 1996, Mr. Pruneda's proposal of marriage was

1-10     warmly accepted by Ms. McCann; and

1-11           WHEREAS, The newlyweds have now settled in Austin, working as

1-12     a legal assistant and legislative aide, and through their deep

1-13     dedication to one another they have forged a sound foundation on

1-14     which to build their life together; and

1-15           WHEREAS, The decision to enter into marriage is a profound

1-16     and powerful expression of commitment, and the lifelong fulfillment

1-17     of this sacred vow is one of the most meaningful experiences

1-18     possible; at the same time, the tradition of the wedding ceremony

1-19     is a joyous public affirmation of love, and this celebration

1-20     nurtures and strengthens not only husband and wife but also their

1-21     friends, family, and community; and

1-22           WHEREAS, In joining together in wedlock, Pete Pruneda and

1-23     Polly McCann-Pruneda have not only imbued their own lives with new

1-24     richness and radiance but have also brought great joy and

 2-1     inspiration to their many friends and loved ones, and it is indeed

 2-2     a privilege to commemorate this auspicious occasion; now,

 2-3     therefore, be it

 2-4           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-5     Legislature hereby congratulate Polly Ann McCann-Pruneda and Pete

 2-6     Pruneda on the occasion of their wedding and extend to them sincere

 2-7     best wishes for continued success and happiness in the years to

 2-8     come; and, be it further

 2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-10     prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the

2-11     Texas House of Representatives.
