R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, May 23, 1997, is indeed a significant day in the

 1-2     lives of the 188 graduating seniors of C. E. King High School in

 1-3     Houston; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, These students have completed the requirements for

 1-5     graduation and now join a proud and distinguished group of alumni

 1-6     from this outstanding educational institution; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, The members of the Class of 1997 have earned

 1-8     numerous honors and distinctions during their high school careers

 1-9     and have brought pride to their school, the city of Houston, and

1-10     the great state of Texas through their exemplary performance in

1-11     academics, the arts, and athletics, as well as in numerous

1-12     vocational and extracurricular activities; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Their many accomplishments, of course, would not

1-14     have been possible without the dedicated instruction, support, and

1-15     guidance of the faculty and administration of C. E. King High

1-16     School and the vision of the Sheldon Independent School District's

1-17     board of directors; and

1-18           WHEREAS, The parents of this year's graduates are equally

1-19     deserving of recognition for their commitment to educational

1-20     excellence in public schools and for their loving efforts to help

1-21     ensure that their children are academically prepared to face the

1-22     challenges of the 21st century; now, therefore, be it

1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-24     Legislature hereby congratulate and commend the C. E. King High

 2-1     School Class of 1997 on the occasion of their graduation and offer

 2-2     them sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness in all

 2-3     their future endeavors; and, be it further

 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-5     prepared for the C. E. King High School Class of 1997 as an

 2-6     expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
