R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, This year, Ken McGuire is completing his tenure as 1-2 principal of New Braunfels Middle School after many years of 1-3 exemplary service to the schoolchildren of his community; and 1-4 WHEREAS, During his nearly three decades as an educator, he 1-5 has served as band director, choir director, and an administrator, 1-6 and his care and commitment has had a profound impact on the lives 1-7 of countless young people; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Mr. McGuire joined the staff at New Braunfels Middle 1-9 School in 1991, and for the past three years, he has positively 1-10 affected a host of important issues as the school's principal; and 1-11 WHEREAS, He has drawn on his musical talents to further serve 1-12 the community as a community band member and director, and in the 1-13 summer of 1996 he traveled with the town's band to Germany to 1-14 perform as the official ambassador from New Braunfels to the 750th 1-15 anniversary of Braunfels, Germany; and 1-16 WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. McGuire is the husband of 1-17 Gayle McGuire and the proud father of three children, Becky, Kelly, 1-18 and Ryan, and he takes great pleasure and satisfaction in their 1-19 many accomplishments; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Ken McGuire has greatly enhanced the quality of life 1-21 and education in his community, and he is indeed worthy of special 1-22 praise and recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-24 Legislature hereby congratulate Ken McGuire for his outstanding 2-1 service to the New Braunfels Independent School District and extend 2-2 to him warmest best wishes for continued success and happiness in 2-3 all his future endeavors; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-5 prepared for Mr. McGuire as an expression of high regard by the 2-6 Texas House of Representatives.
