R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding 1-2 individuals who have shared many happy and rewarding years of 1-3 marriage is truly an august occasion worthy of special recognition; 1-4 and 1-5 WHEREAS, William "Eddie" Armstrong and Susan Armstrong of 1-6 Lake Worth recently commemorated one such memorable event in their 1-7 lives when they were joined by their family and friends on May 11, 1-8 1997, for a celebration of their 60 years of wedlock; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong were united in marriage on 1-10 May 6, 1937, and since that time their relationship has continued 1-11 to grow in mutual respect and affection for each other throughout 1-12 the course of their marriage; and 1-13 WHEREAS, For 40 years, Mr. Armstrong was a valued employee of 1-14 Swift & Co. and he also worked for the betterment of his community 1-15 as a zone leader for the Lake Worth Civic Club, while 1-16 Mrs. Armstrong has devoted her time and energy to maintaining their 1-17 lovely home; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Relying on Mrs. Armstrong's gardening expertise, the 1-19 couple have carefully landscaped their yard, adding shade trees and 1-20 constructing a small greenhouse; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Their enduring union has been blessed with three 1-22 daughters, each of whom has benefited from her parents' unfailing 1-23 love and guidance, and the welcome addition of 10 grandchildren, 1-24 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren has 2-1 further enhanced this close-knit family's happiness; and 2-2 WHEREAS, For 60 years, Eddie and Susan Armstrong have shared 2-3 a strong and lasting marriage filled with many joyful times and 2-4 cherished family memories; their relationship is a continuing 2-5 source of pride and inspiration to all who know them, and it is 2-6 indeed a privilege to honor them at this time; now, therefore, be 2-7 it 2-8 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-9 Legislature hereby congratulate William "Eddie" Armstrong and Susan 2-10 Armstrong on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and 2-11 extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness in the 2-12 future; and, be it further 2-13 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-14 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong as an expression of high regard 2-15 by the Texas House of Representatives.
