R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, For many years, the Dallas community has benefited
1-2 from the vision and leadership of Mary Malone, and she is indeed
1-3 deserving of special praise and recognition at this time; and
1-4 WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Dallas, she wed Raymond
1-5 Malone, and the couple nurtured a deeply fulfilling union that
1-6 spanned nearly 30 years until his passing; and
1-7 WHEREAS, Though Mrs. Malone has no children of her own, she
1-8 enjoys close relationships with her friends and associates, and her
1-9 care and commitment have positively affected many individuals; and
1-10 WHEREAS, She has helped to make her community a better place
1-11 in which to live, work, and rear a family by serving as president
1-12 of both the Las Casas Homeowners Association and the Las Casas
1-13 Crime Watch group and working with her neighbors to combat key
1-14 problems in the area; and
1-15 WHEREAS, Mrs. Malone also organizes a popular annual barbecue
1-16 and covered dish supper for the neighborhood, and her fine efforts
1-17 on behalf of the community have helped to make the Las Casas area a
1-18 close-knit one where neighbors care for each other and work
1-19 together for the common good; and
1-20 WHEREAS, Her outstanding accomplishments have earned her
1-21 well-deserved acclaim, for she has been honored by the Dallas City
1-22 Council and Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson for her stalwart
1-23 service, and the East Dallas Rotary Club has presented her with its
1-24 Community Vocational Service Award; and
2-1 WHEREAS, During the early years of her professional career,
2-2 Mrs. Malone was employed by Samules & Company as a payroll and
2-3 accounts receivable supervisor; she later joined the staff of T & W
2-4 Meat Company as an office manager and retired after 25 years of
2-5 service to that business; and
2-6 WHEREAS, Mary Malone's outstanding work in behalf of her
2-7 community serves as a source of inspiration to all who are
2-8 privileged to know her, and it gives the members of this chamber
2-9 great pleasure to honor her at this time; now, therefore, be it
2-10 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas
2-11 Legislature hereby honor Mary Malone for her exemplary civic
2-12 involvement and extend to her warmest best wishes for continued
2-13 success and happiness in the future; and, be it further
2-14 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-15 prepared for Mrs. Malone as an expression of high regard by the
2-16 Texas House of Representatives.
