                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Jason Nicholaus Swint has completed the rigorous

 1-2     requirements necessary to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, and this

 1-3     accomplishment is indeed deserving of special praise and

 1-4     recognition; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, A valued member of Troop 40 in Houston, Eagle Scout

 1-6     Swint is a senior at Barbara Jordan High School for Careers, where

 1-7     he employs many of the skills he has developed as a scout in his

 1-8     pursuit of academic excellence; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. Swint has twice made the Honor Roll, and he is

1-10     the recipient of several awards in the Vocational Industrial Clubs

1-11     of America competition; after his graduation, this noteworthy young

1-12     man intends to pursue his love of automobiles and machinery and

1-13     become certified as a mechanic; and

1-14           WHEREAS, An active member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic

1-15     Church, Eagle Scout Swint serves as the historian of his youth

1-16     group, and his unselfish commitment to God, country, and scouting

1-17     is truly commendable; in addition, his dedication to teamwork and

1-18     cooperation in all facets of his life has earned him the respect

1-19     and admiration of all who know him; and

1-20           WHEREAS, Mr. Swint hopes to remain with his troop as an adult

1-21     leader following his graduation from high school, and his counsel

1-22     and guidance will no doubt be appreciated by the many young people

1-23     interested in acquiring and applying the practical skills offered

1-24     by the scouts and in learning more about the scouting tradition;

 2-1     and

 2-2           WHEREAS, This commendable young man is a constant source of

 2-3     pride to his parents, Lloyd and Rebecca Swint, and his brother, Lee

 2-4     Swint, and it is a privilege to join his family, friends, and

 2-5     fellow scouts in honoring him as he prepares to join the ranks of

 2-6     the Eagle Scouts at his Court of Honor; now, therefore, be it

 2-7           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-8     Legislature hereby congratulate Jason Nicholaus Swint on attaining

 2-9     the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for

2-10     continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors; and,

2-11     be it further

2-12           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-13     prepared for Mr. Swint as an expression of high regard by the Texas

2-14     House of Representatives.
