R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Jerry Kneupper has contributed greatly to the

 1-2     betterment of the Kirby community as a city councilman, and his

 1-3     efforts are indeed worthy of special legislative recognition; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, A democratic form of government depends on the

 1-5     informed participation of its people, and foremost among the

 1-6     system's participants are those dedicated men and women who are

 1-7     willing to make the sacrifices necessary to take on the role of

 1-8     public servant; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, The demands of public office are great, and the

1-10     rewards are not always immediately apparent; public servants must

1-11     continually balance the needs of their constituents with the best

1-12     use of available resources, and few issues are easily resolved; and

1-13           WHEREAS, In taking on this difficult challenge, Jerry

1-14     Kneupper has joined the proud tradition of citizen leadership that

1-15     has been our nation's trademark for more than two centuries, and he

1-16     can take justifiable pride in the role he has played in this noble

1-17     legacy; now, therefore, be it

1-18           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-19     Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Jerry Kneupper for his

1-20     years of public service and extend to him warmest best wishes for

1-21     the future; and, be it further         RESOLVED, That an official

1-22     copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Kneupper as an

1-23     expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
