R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Residents of the Lone Star State are known

 1-2     throughout the world for their generosity of spirit and willingness

 1-3     to lend a hand, and Arlene Washington of San Antonio has embodied

 1-4     these typically Texan traits in her selfless dedication to the

 1-5     betterment of her hometown; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, A vital and valued member of the community,

 1-7     Mrs. Washington has given freely of her time and talent to foster

 1-8     the development of effective and organized neighborhood groups, and

 1-9     her fellow San Antonians have greatly benefited from her efforts;

1-10     and

1-11           WHEREAS, In committing ourselves to the worthwhile work of

1-12     community service, we make a real and lasting mark on the world

1-13     even as we strengthen and shape our own identities as individuals

1-14     and as human beings, and those notable citizens who take on the

1-15     challenges of this rewarding work are truly worthy of special

1-16     praise; and

1-17           WHEREAS, Arlene Washington has distinguished herself as one

1-18     such individual, and it is fitting that she be recognized for her

1-19     many contributions to her fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it

1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-21     Legislature hereby honor Arlene Washington for her outstanding

1-22     record of public service and extend to her sincere best wishes for

1-23     continued success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it

1-24     further

 2-1           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-2     prepared for Mrs. Washington as an expression of high regard by the

 2-3     Texas House of Representatives.
