R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Residents of the Lone Star State are known

 1-2     throughout the world for their generosity of spirit and willingness

 1-3     to lend a hand, and Mary Armstrong of San Antonio has embodied

 1-4     these typically Texan traits in her selfless dedication to the

 1-5     betterment of her hometown; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, A vital and valued member of the community,

 1-7     Mrs. Armstrong has given freely of her time and talent to Grandview

 1-8     Organized for Leadership Development, and that organization has

 1-9     greatly benefited from her tenure as its president; and

1-10           WHEREAS, In committing ourselves to the worthwhile work of

1-11     community service, we make a real and lasting mark on the world

1-12     even as we strengthen and shape our own identities as individuals

1-13     and as human beings, and those notable citizens who take on the

1-14     challenges of this rewarding work are truly worthy of special

1-15     praise; and

1-16           WHEREAS, Mary Armstrong has distinguished herself as one such

1-17     individual, and it is fitting that she be recognized  for her many

1-18     contributions to her fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it

1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-20     Legislature hereby honor Mary Armstrong for her outstanding record

1-21     of public service and extend to her sincere best wishes for

1-22     continued success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it

1-23     further

1-24           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-1     prepared for Mrs. Armstrong as an expression of high regard by the

 2-2     Texas House of Representatives.
