R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Reed Hilary Ellis Johnson marked a significant 1-2 milestone in his life on May 19, 1997, when he graduated from 1-3 kindergarten at Hyde Park Baptist Elementary School; and 1-4 WHEREAS, The son of Gordon R. and Pam Johnson, Reed is a 1-5 continuing source of joy to his parents and to his doting 1-6 grandmothers, Judy Johnson and Joyce Watson; he is also the 1-7 grandson of the late Robert E. Johnson, a highly regarded former 1-8 member of the legislative community, and Reed's "Big Daddy" was 1-9 undoubtedly looking down with great pride on this special occasion; 1-10 and 1-11 WHEREAS, Throughout the school year, Reed was accompanied to 1-12 school by "Tee," his favorite blanket, which stayed in his backpack 1-13 as a reminder of familiar people and places; it didn't take long, 1-14 however, for Reed to take charge of his new environment, and by the 1-15 end of the year, he had successfully mastered a host of challenging 1-16 skills, all while making many new friends in the process; and 1-17 WHEREAS, This exceptional young man received numerous 1-18 achievement awards in the course of the year, and at the school's 1-19 end of the year awards ceremony, he was named "Best Mannered," an 1-20 accomplishment that was a source of tremendous pride to the entire 1-21 Johnson family; and 1-22 WHEREAS, Now ready to tackle the rigors of first grade, Reed 1-23 Hilary Ellis Johnson is well on his way to becoming a valued leader 1-24 of the Lone Star State, and the members of this chamber are pleased 2-1 to join the Johnson family in commemorating this auspicious 2-2 occasion; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby congratulate Reed Hilary Ellis Johnson on his 2-5 graduation from kindergarten and extend to him warmest best wishes 2-6 for continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors; 2-7 and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for young Mr. Johnson as an expression of highest regard 2-10 by the Texas House of Representatives.
