R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, During the weekend of July 11-13, 1997, members of 1-2 the Woodfork family will gather for their 20th consecutive annual 1-3 reunion, and this noteworthy occasion is truly deserving of special 1-4 recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, This festive event will enable kinfolk from across 1-6 the country to reacquaint themselves with their relatives, and in 1-7 celebrating their familial ties to one another they will honor the 1-8 memory of their forebears as they reaffirm their deep pride in 1-9 their common heritage; and 1-10 WHEREAS, By instilling in us our values and offering us a 1-11 tangible connection to our roots, our families shape and sharpen 1-12 our identities as individuals, and although each new generation 1-13 seeks to carve out its own distinct destiny, we are all indebted to 1-14 those who have come before us; and 1-15 WHEREAS, When the descendants and relatives of the late Tom 1-16 and Fannie Woodfork gather this year to share news, recollections, 1-17 tall tales, and laughter, they will be upholding a vital and 1-18 valuable family tradition, and it is a privilege to recognize this 1-19 auspicious event; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby commemorate the 1997 Woodfork family reunion and 1-22 extend to all those connected with this gathering sincere best 1-23 wishes for continued success and happiness in the years to come; 1-24 and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for the Woodfork family as an expression of high regard by 2-3 the Texas House of Representatives.
