R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor

 1-2     Charles Bredwell III for his notable service to the State of Texas

 1-3     as a legislative aide to the Honorable Steve Holzheauser; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, A native of Saint Louis, Missouri, this exceptional

 1-5     individual began his higher education at the University of

 1-6     Missouri, where he attained his bachelor of science degree in

 1-7     political science; however, in his boundless desire for

 1-8     self-improvement, he answered the siren call of the Lone Star State

 1-9     and continued his pursuit of academic excellence at Texas A&M

1-10     University in the hope that his association with that fine

1-11     institution would make him welcome anywhere within the bounds of

1-12     Texas; and

1-13           WHEREAS, In his younger days Mr. Bredwell was afflicted with

1-14     a desire for the limelight, and his considerable need for attention

1-15     led him to accept a solo role in the touring company of "Up With

1-16     People," although the experience was a memorable one, he realized

1-17     that his true calling lay elsewhere; and

1-18           WHEREAS, Mr. Bredwell found himself drawn like a moth to a

1-19     flame to the Texas Legislature, and since 1985 he has doggedly

1-20     labored behind the scenes at the Texas House of Representatives;

1-21     his fearless tenacity as a legislative aide to Representative

1-22     Holzheauser has often led others to confuse Mr. Bredwell with his

1-23     beloved pet, Gordo, a certified Bosnian war dog; and

1-24           WHEREAS, Like true love, the course of his relationship with

 2-1     public service has not always run smoothly, and his encounter with

 2-2     a disgruntled citizen who mistakenly identified him as Mayor Kenny

 2-3     Marchant and unjustly harangued him at length, impressed on him the

 2-4     potential danger of holding elected office; and

 2-5           WHEREAS, Having gained acceptance as an adopted member of the

 2-6     Holzheauser family by one and all, he takes great pleasure in his

 2-7     role as "Uncle Buck" to Craig, Brittany, and Justin Holzheauser,

 2-8     and he happily shares with them his encyclopedic knowledge of the

 2-9     legislative process and the sport of baseball, although he draws

2-10     the line at parting with anything from his treasured sports card

2-11     collection; and

2-12           WHEREAS, Throughout his many years in the great State of

2-13     Texas, Charles Bredwell III has made every effort to be worthy of

2-14     the land he now calls home, and his herculean accomplishments in

2-15     this regard make Mr. Bredwell worthy of special legislative praise

2-16     and recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it

2-17           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

2-18     Legislature hereby honor Charles Bredwell III for his many years of

2-19     exemplary service to Representative Steve Holzheauser and the

2-20     entirety of the chamber's membership, and extend to him sincere

2-21     best wishes for continued happiness and success in the years to

2-22     come; and, be it further

2-23           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-24     prepared for Charles Bredwell III as an expression of highest

2-25     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
