                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Friendswood's Steven Craig Little II has

 1-2     distinguished himself through his achievement of academic

 1-3     excellence and his involvement in the community, and his efforts

 1-4     are truly deserving of special praise and recognition; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, A graduate of Clear Brook High School, Mr. Little

 1-6     was a prominent and dynamic member of his high school class; in

 1-7     addition to playing a vital role on the track and field squad, he

 1-8     also captained the varsity football team and served on the student

 1-9     council; and

1-10           WHEREAS, The depth of Mr. Little's character was fully

1-11     exemplified when he donated a $500 scholarship to a fellow student

1-12     struggling to raise money for college; this charitable act, as well

1-13     as his countless other good deeds, illustrates his generous nature

1-14     and his genuine concern for other people; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Mr. Little is a recent graduate of Southwest Texas

1-16     State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business

1-17     administration; while studying for his degree, he continued to

1-18     pursue his passion for football as a member of the team and was

1-19     active in both the Black Students Alliance and the school's chapter

1-20     of the NAACP; and

1-21           WHEREAS, Espousing the principles of self-confidence and

1-22     perseverance, Mr. Little encourages the young people in his

1-23     community to stay in school and to strive for a higher quality of

1-24     life; his sage advice has had a profound effect on many young

 2-1     people, and his shining example is a testament to what hard work

 2-2     and determination can achieve; and

 2-3           WHEREAS, This admirable individual's unwavering commitment to

 2-4     God and his desire to be a role model for his nieces and nephews

 2-5     have earned him the respect and admiration of his family, friends,

 2-6     and fellow citizens, and as he prepares to attend South Texas

 2-7     College of Law this fall, the members of this chamber are pleased

 2-8     to wish him well in this and all his future endeavors; now,

 2-9     therefore, be it

2-10           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

2-11     Legislature hereby commend Steven Craig Little II for his

2-12     dedication and service to the community and extend to him sincere

2-13     best wishes for continued success and happiness in the years to

2-14     come; and, be it further

2-15           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-16     prepared for Mr. Little as an expression of high regard by the

2-17     Texas House of Representatives.
