                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, On October 18, 1997, Raschel Alison Richter and

 1-2     James Prescott York will embark on a new and exciting journey in

 1-3     life when they are united as husband and wife at St. Peter's

 1-4     Lutheran Church in Washington County; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, The couple began dating in 1989; over the next few

 1-6     years their blossoming relationship grew in mutual respect,

 1-7     affection, and understanding, and on October 3, 1996, Mr. York's

 1-8     proposal of marriage was warmly accepted by Ms. Richter; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, The newlyweds will reside in Somerville, living in

1-10     the house in which Mr. York was born, and through their deep

1-11     dedication to one another they have forged a sound foundation on

1-12     which to build their life together; and

1-13           WHEREAS, The decision to enter into marriage is a profound

1-14     and powerful expression of commitment, and the lifelong fulfillment

1-15     of this sacred vow is one of the most meaningful experiences

1-16     possible; at the same time, the tradition of the wedding ceremony

1-17     is a joyous public affirmation of love, and this celebration

1-18     nurtures and strengthens not only husband and wife but also their

1-19     friends, family, and community; and

1-20           WHEREAS, In joining together in wedlock, Scott York and

1-21     Raschel Richter will not only imbue their own lives with new

1-22     richness and radiance but will also bring great joy and inspiration

1-23     to their many friends and loved ones, and it is indeed a privilege

1-24     to commemorate this auspicious occasion; now, therefore, be it

 2-1           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-2     Legislature hereby congratulate Raschel Alison Richter and James

 2-3     Prescott York on the occasion of their wedding and extend to them

 2-4     sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness in the

 2-5     years to come; and, be it further

 2-6           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-7     prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the

 2-8     Texas House of Representatives.
