R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, For many years, the people of Dallas have benefited 1-2 from the vision and leadership of John Brett, and he is indeed 1-3 worthy of special praise and recognition at this time; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Mr. Brett, who is employed as vice president of 1-5 national accounts for Loomis Fargo & Company, has maintained an 1-6 active involvement in the community as a member of the Greater 1-7 Dallas Crime Commission for more than 16 years; and 1-8 WHEREAS, He currently serves as chairman of the commission 1-9 and has been instrumental in the formation of alliances with other 1-10 law enforcement agencies in the area; he helped to form the Law 1-11 Enforcement Liaison Committee, which raises money to provide 1-12 training for local law enforcement personnel, to the benefit of the 1-13 entire community; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Mr. Brett is also well known as a humanitarian; he 1-15 organized a caravan of volunteers to provide relief to the 1-16 surviving families of the Oklahoma City bombing, and his remarkable 1-17 efforts in this regard earned him the heartfelt gratitude of 1-18 countless individuals; and 1-19 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Brett has been aided by 1-20 the love and support of his family, which includes his wife, Linda 1-21 Ray Brett, the couple's children, Susan Elizabeth Tuggle and Kevin 1-22 Michael Brett, and cherished granddaughter, Keri Elizabeth Tuggle; 1-23 and 1-24 WHEREAS, John Brett has enhanced the quality of life in the 2-1 Dallas community in numerous ways, and his exceptional commitment 2-2 is a source of inspiration to all who are privileged to know him; 2-3 now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby honor John Brett for his exemplary civic 2-6 involvement and extend to him warmest best wishes for continued 2-7 success and happiness in the future; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for Mr. Brett as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-10 House of Representatives.
