R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans 1-2 who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a 1-3 memorable occasion worthy of special praise and recognition; and 1-4 WHEREAS, J. A. and Lillian Hardee of Fort Worth recently had 1-5 the privilege of commemorating such a momentous event in their 1-6 lives when they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on 1-7 April 19, 1997, with a family dinner hosted by the couple's 1-8 children; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Since exchanging their wedding vows in Fort Worth, 1-10 the Hardees have nurtured an enduring relationship that has grown 1-11 in love and understanding with each passing year and that has been 1-12 blessed with three children, Barbara Erkie, Mark Hardee, and 1-13 Cynthia Post; and 1-14 WHEREAS, A World War II veteran, Mr. Hardee is retired from 1-15 Swift & Company and Stratoflex, while Mrs. Hardee has devoted 1-16 herself to providing a warm and secure home life for the couple's 1-17 family throughout their marriage; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Now deservedly enjoying the many benefits of a full 1-19 life together, the couple find they have more time to pursue their 1-20 favorite leisure activities, and they treasure the time they spend 1-21 with their family, which has grown to include their children's 1-22 spouses, Vickie Hardee and Greg Post, and four cherished 1-23 grandchildren; and 1-24 WHEREAS, For half a century, J. A. and Lillian Hardee have 2-1 shared a warm and affectionate union filled with many happy times 2-2 and cherished family memories; built on a solid foundation of 2-3 mutual love, trust, and support, their marriage is a source of joy 2-4 and inspiration to the family and many friends of this fortunate 2-5 pair; now, therefore, be it 2-6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-7 Legislature hereby congratulate J. A. and Lillian Hardee on the 2-8 occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them 2-9 warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further 2-10 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-11 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hardee as an expression of high regard by 2-12 the Texas House of Representatives.
