R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, On September 1, 1985, the Reverend Father Louis J.
1-2 Christopulos began his pastorate with the Annunciation Greek
1-3 Orthodox Cathedral in Houston, and thereafter served the
1-4 congregation for two years as assistant priest and 12 years as
1-5 Proistamenos; and
1-6 WHEREAS, Fondly known as Father Lou, he set a fine example of
1-7 living one's faith each day, and his understanding and compassion
1-8 helped to strengthen commitment in countless individuals; and
1-9 WHEREAS, This respected clergyman broadened the cathedral's
1-10 role in the religious community through his involvement with
1-11 Interfaith Ministries of Greater Houston and other ecumenical
1-12 projects, and was recently elected a director of the Texas
1-13 Conference of Churches; and
1-14 WHEREAS, Although Father Lou and his family--his wife,
1-15 Presbytera Marsha, and their children, Nicole, Christopher, and
1-16 Jonathan--will soon leave the parish to assume leadership of Saint
1-17 Catherine Parish in Denver, his good works will continue to inspire
1-18 church members for many years to come; now, therefore, be it
1-19 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas
1-20 Legislature hereby commend the Reverend Father Louis J.
1-21 Christopulos for his outstanding service to the Annunciation Greek
1-22 Orthodox Cathedral and extend to him warmest best wishes for
1-23 continued fulfillment as he prepares to embark on his new ministry;
1-24 and, be it further
2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-2 prepared for Father Lou as an expression of high regard by the
2-3 Texas House of Representatives.
