                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, On May 6, 1997, Guillermo Rodriguez formally

 1-2     announced his plans to retire from his position as principal of

 1-3     Memorial Junior High School in Harlingen, and it is indeed fitting

 1-4     at this time to recognize him for his many achievements; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. Rodriguez has committed

 1-6     himself to the pursuit of educational excellence, and his personal

 1-7     stake in the progress of his young charges has made an incalculable

 1-8     difference in their lives; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Well known for his warm generosity of spirit, "Mr.

1-10     Rod" has imbued Memorial Junior High School with his enthusiastic

1-11     zest for life, creating a supportive learning environment that is

1-12     as engaging as it is challenging; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Young people are the Lone Star State's most precious

1-14     natural resource, and the dedicated professionals entrusted with

1-15     their education are truly deserving of every Texan's heartfelt

1-16     gratitude and admiration; Guillermo Rodriguez is one such

1-17     individual, and as he opens a new chapter in his life we join his

1-18     many friends and admirers in paying tribute to his outstanding

1-19     career as an educator; now, therefore, be it

1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-21     Legislature hereby honor Guillermo Rodriguez on the occasion of his

1-22     retirement as principal of Memorial Junior High School in Harlingen

1-23     and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and

1-24     happiness in the years to come; and, be it further

 2-1           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-2     prepared for Mr. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the

 2-3     Texas House of Representatives.
