R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

 1-2     who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a

 1-3     memorable occasion worthy of special praise and recognition; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, John Kenneth and Hazel Dodd Rehak will have the

 1-5     privilege of commemorating such a momentous event in their lives

 1-6     when they celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on November

 1-7     26, 1997; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, Since sharing their wedding vows at Newgulf Baptist

 1-9     Church, the Rehaks have nurtured an enduring relationship that has

1-10     grown in love and understanding with each passing year, and they

1-11     have enriched not only their own lives but the lives of those

1-12     around them with their devotion to each other; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Rehak are the proud parents of two

1-14     children, Suzanne Grew and Kenneth Lynn Rehak, and they have

1-15     welcomed the addition of three lovely granddaughters, Wendy Ann

1-16     Grew, Elizabeth Lynn Rehak, and Lana Eileen Rehak, into the family

1-17     fold; and

1-18           WHEREAS, The couple are both retired from their careers;

1-19     Mr. Rehak, a World War II veteran, was employed as a welder with

1-20     Texas Gulf Sulfur Company, while Mrs. Rehak served the community as

1-21     a classroom teacher; and

1-22           WHEREAS, Now deservedly enjoying the many benefits of a full

1-23     life together, the Rehaks find they have more time to pursue their

1-24     favorite pastimes, which include playing golf and dominoes, tending

 2-1     to their African violets, and spending time with their family and

 2-2     close friends; and

 2-3           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Rehak are active members of First

 2-4     Baptist Church in Wharton, where Mr. Rehak greatly contributed to

 2-5     the success of the church's Sesquicentennial Celebration, and they

 2-6     are both vital and valued members of the community; and

 2-7           WHEREAS, For half a century, John and Hazel Rehak have shared

 2-8     a warm and affectionate union filled with many happy times and

 2-9     cherished family memories; built on a solid foundation of mutual

2-10     love, trust, and support, their marriage is a source of joy and

2-11     inspiration to the family and many friends of this fortunate pair;

2-12     now, therefore, be it

2-13           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

2-14     Legislature hereby congratulate John and Hazel Rehak on the

2-15     occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them

2-16     warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further

2-17           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-18     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rehak as an expression of high regard by

2-19     the Texas House of Representatives.
