No. 1289 75R17110 JHS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives wishes to honor 1-2 the employees in the House Business Office for their 1-3 behind-the-scenes work in support of house members and their 1-4 staffs; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Executive director and manager of accounting Steve 1-6 Adrian has capably overseen the business office's many essential 1-7 services, and his leadership and guidance in these dual roles have 1-8 been vital to the success of this legislative session; and 1-9 WHEREAS, In his post as accounting manager, Mr. Adrian has 1-10 been ably assisted by Tina Dawson, Mary Hees, Kathryn Jones, Betty 1-11 Ann McLean, Sharon McNabb, Donna Jeanne McNees, and Scott Siebert; 1-12 and 1-13 WHEREAS, The business office's photography department 1-14 includes manager Jesse Herrera, Elizabeth Albrecht, Barbara Goins, 1-15 Alexander Labry, Joe Kelly Obenhaus, Monti Perkins, and Roger 1-16 Prather, and these talented individuals have once again captured 1-17 the images of the state legislature in and around the historic 1-18 Capitol for the enjoyment of many Texans; and 1-19 WHEREAS, The demanding job of dealing with the voluminous 1-20 mail generated during the legislative session has been accomplished 1-21 by postmaster Clarence Hardeman and post office employees C. Hudson 1-22 Allen, Jr., Anissa Castillo, Anesia Jackson, Charles Pivonka, 1-23 Maurice Scott, Joel Stallion, and Wayne Watson; and 1-24 WHEREAS, Property department manager Joyce Faykus and her 2-1 coworkers John Fletcher, John Honeycutt, Gale Kloesel, Patricia 2-2 Mills, Leon Reed, Betty Shuvalov, Kelly Simmons, and Ronald 2-3 Thompson have worked diligently to meet the inventory requirements 2-4 of members and their staffs; and 2-5 WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Dean Howard, the purchasing 2-6 and supply department, which also employs Lidia Castillo, Ronald 2-7 Hughes, Gloria Mendieta, Gary Richter, and George Sam, Jr., has 2-8 handled the various needs of the representatives expeditiously and 2-9 professionally; and 2-10 WHEREAS, The valued employees of the reproduction department 2-11 include manager William Benson, Patricia Barratt, David Cavazos, 2-12 William Larry Cikalo, Kimberly Gamble, Susan Garza, Don Hays, Cindi 2-13 Henry, Zeke Mendoza, Peggy Miller, Jaime Ortiz, Donna Russell, 2-14 Bonnie Simpson, Jimmy Starr, Paul Tello, Jr., and Ronnie Welch; and 2-15 WHEREAS, Payroll and personnel manager Janice Vastine has 2-16 been assisted in her duties by fellow employees Virginia Bostic, 2-17 Margaret Kelley, Barbara Mokry, Ann Garrett Skinner, Joyce Veloz, 2-18 and Erika Zinger; and 2-19 WHEREAS, In addition to Elena Castaldi and her terrific floor 2-20 staff, the following individuals contribute to the task of 2-21 maintaining the house journal: Ronald Attal, Matthew Holder, Grace 2-22 Levrier, Andrew McKenna, Jose Oscar Mendez III, Donna Williams, and 2-23 Jennifer Wren; and 2-24 WHEREAS, Audiovisual services during the session have been 2-25 provided by department manager Michael Fickel and his staff, which 2-26 includes Andrea Betzel, Zafer Hamza, Wendell Handy, D. Glenn Hill, 2-27 Michael McCarter, John McMurray, Roman Morales, James Petty, 3-1 Richard Sanders, and Suzanne Schreve; and 3-2 WHEREAS, Robert Haney's efficient management of the committee 3-3 services section of the chief clerk's office has been facilitated 3-4 by Edgar Berger, Crystal Day, Wendi Koletar, and Casie Waller, 3-5 while communications division director John Bender has received 3-6 tremendous support from Tammy Gipson; and 3-7 WHEREAS, Special services department employees include 3-8 manager Alex Besa, Esther Cardiel, Laura Medlock, Jimmy Morris, 3-9 Annette Nichols, Lupe Salinas, Willie Walker, and Prentiss 3-10 Williams; and 3-11 WHEREAS, Each of these outstanding individuals have put in 3-12 long hours to ensure the success of this legislative session, going 3-13 above and beyond the call of duty on many occasions, and their 3-14 service to the members of this chamber and to the State of Texas is 3-15 to be commended; now, therefore, be it 3-16 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 3-17 Legislature hereby honor the employees of the House Business Office 3-18 and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success and 3-19 happiness in the years to come; and, be it further 3-20 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 3-21 prepared for these dedicated employees as an expression of highest 3-22 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
