R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State 1-2 of Texas, 75th Legislature, Regular Session, 1997, That House Rule 1-3 13, Section 9(a), be suspended in part as provided by House Rule 1-4 13, Section 9(f), to enable the conference committee appointed to 1-5 resolve the differences on Senate Bill No. 1 to consider and take 1-6 action on the following specific matters: 1-7 (1) House Rule 13, Section 9(a)(4), is suspended to permit 1-8 the committee to add text in SECTION 4.07 of the bill to amended 1-9 Section 15.001(6)(A), Water Code, to read as follows: 1-10 ", including planning activities and work to obtain 1-11 regulatory authority at the local, state, and federal level,". 1-12 Explanation: This change is necessary to ensure that future 1-13 water supplies crucial to the Rio Grande Valley will be made 1-14 possible. 1-15 (2) House Rule 13, Section 9(a)(4), is suspended to permit 1-16 the committee to add text in SECTION 5.04 of the bill to amended 1-17 Section 17.001(7), Water Code, to read as follows: 1-18 "(D) a channel storage reservoir located on an 1-19 international boundary between Texas and Mexico that develops the 1-20 water resources of Texas and the research, planning, and actions 1-21 necessary to obtain regulatory authority at the local, state, and 1-22 federal level". 1-23 Explanation: This change is necessary to ensure that future 1-24 water supplies crucial to the Rio Grande Valley will be made 2-1 possible. 2-2 (3) House Rule 13, Section 9(a)(1), is suspended to permit 2-3 the committee in SECTION 2.18 of the bill to refer to applications 2-4 "received" instead of applications "filed." 2-5 Explanation: This change is necessary to properly describe 2-6 application procedures of the Texas Natural Resource Conservation 2-7 Commission.
