R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, Isaac Flores Harrington has distinguished himself as
1-2 a valued member of state representative Norma Chavez's staff, and
1-3 his many contributions to the Texas Legislature are truly worthy of
1-4 special praise and recognition; and
1-5 WHEREAS, Currently attending The University of Texas at
1-6 Austin, Mr. Harrington has adeptly balanced the rigorous demands of
1-7 the legislative session with the pursuit of his studies, and he has
1-8 carried out his duties with the same diligence and keen
1-9 intelligence that characterize all his endeavors; and
1-10 WHEREAS, Mr. Harrington has brought to his work at the
1-11 legislature a wide breadth of experience, and he has lent his time
1-12 and energy to such organizations as the Texas Civil Rights Project,
1-13 the United Farm Workers, and the League of United Latin American
1-14 Citizens; and
1-15 WHEREAS, This notable young Texan's interests extend well
1-16 beyond the political field, and he boasts numerous achievements as
1-17 an athlete and outdoorsman; an all-district soccer and football
1-18 player in high school, he is also an avid hiker and canoer; and
1-19 WHEREAS, Mr. Harrington is as well-traveled as he is
1-20 well-rounded, and has practiced his fluent Spanish in such
1-21 far-flung locales as Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Spain; and
1-22 WHEREAS, A talented and dedicated legislative aide,
1-23 Mr. Harrington has risen to the challenges of his position with
1-24 verve and intelligence, and it is a privilege to recognize him for
2-1 his many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas
2-3 Legislature hereby honor Isaac Flores Harrington for his
2-4 outstanding public service and extend to him sincere best wishes
2-5 for continued success and happiness in the years to come; and, be
2-6 it further
2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-8 prepared for Mr. Harrington as an expression of high regard by the
2-9 Texas House of Representatives.
