R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Cheryce Davault on January 1-2 21, 1997, at the age of 54, brought a great loss to the family and 1-3 many friends of this respected Duncanville resident; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Mrs. Davault attended San Diego State University and 1-5 furthered her education at court reporting school; she wed Paul 1-6 Richard Davault on August 31, 1988, and the couple nurtured a 1-7 deeply fulfilling union that spanned eight years; and 1-8 WHEREAS, This esteemed woman gave more than 25 years of 1-9 devoted service to Dallas County government; she began her career 1-10 as a clerk for the Dallas County Mental Illness Court and later 1-11 served as the official court reporter for the Probate Court of 1-12 Dallas County for 20 years; and 1-13 WHEREAS, She was publicly honored by the Dallas County 1-14 Commissioners Court in 1996 for her long years of government 1-15 service; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Mrs. Davault led a full life and consistently made 1-17 time in her schedule to enjoy her favorite pastimes, which included 1-18 bowling and playing soccer; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Cheryce Davault touched the lives of many people 1-20 during her years on this earth, and though she is gone from us now, 1-21 her memory will long endure in the hearts and minds of all who knew 1-22 and loved her; now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-24 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Cheryce Davault and 2-1 extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her 2-2 husband, Paul Richard Davault; to her sons, Wesley Duck and Stephen 2-3 Duck; to her daughter, Shawntell McKillop Rodgers; to her stepson, 2-4 Howard Taylor Smith; to her stepdaughter, Delfa Ferguson; to her 2-5 granddaughter, Meghan Nicole Rodgers; to her coworkers at the 2-6 Probate Court of Dallas County; and to the many other friends and 2-7 relatives of this beloved woman; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas 2-10 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-11 Cheryce Davault.
