                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to

 1-2     extend congratulations to Ada Williams who was recently named

 1-3     Director of the Year by the Credit Union Executive Society; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, The Dallas native has been a member of the Dallas

 1-5     Teachers Credit Union's Board of Directors since 1981 and is

 1-6     presently serving as its chairman; she is also a member of its

 1-7     executive committee; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, A talented and capable leader, Ada Williams has been

 1-9     recognized nationally and throughout the credit union industry for

1-10     her outstanding accomplishments; and

1-11           WHEREAS, The professional registered parliamentarian has

1-12     volunteered her services as parliamentarian and consultant to

1-13     credit unions nationwide and has conducted various workshops on

1-14     parliamentary law; she is a popular featured speaker at numerous

1-15     Credit Union League and association meetings; and

1-16           WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams is a governmental and internal

1-17     relations specialist for the Dallas public schools and was elected

1-18     parliamentarian of its board of trustees; and

1-19           WHEREAS, Appointed by the Governor of Texas to serve on the

1-20     Texas Credit Union Commission from May 1983 to March 1989, Ada

1-21     Williams has provided assistance and testimony in behalf of the

1-22     Texas Credit Union League to the Texas Legislature; and

1-23           WHEREAS, Highly qualified to represent her profession,

1-24     Mrs. Williams earned a bachelor of arts degree from

 2-1     Huston-Tillotson College and a master of arts degree from North

 2-2     Texas State University; she is certified in both counseling and

 2-3     sensitivity training; and

 2-4           WHEREAS, Through her dedication and exemplary contributions,

 2-5     Ada Williams has received recognition and respect from those in her

 2-6     field; now, therefore, be it

 2-7           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-8     Legislature hereby recognize Ada Williams for being named 1996

 2-9     Director of the Year and extend best wishes to her for continued

2-10     success and happiness in the years ahead; and, be it further

2-11           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-12     prepared for Ms. Williams as an expression of high regard by the

2-13     Texas House of Representatives.
