                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Paula E. Martin has

 1-2     committed herself to providing quality health care for the citizens

 1-3     of El Paso, and her hard work in this endeavor is to be commended;

 1-4     and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Ms. Martin earned her bachelor's degree in nursing

 1-6     from The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in 1986 and in 1995

 1-7     she received her master's degree in public administration from that

 1-8     same institution; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Currently employed by Del Norte Homecare as director

1-10     of quality improvement and staff development, this admirable

1-11     individual combines her extensive nursing experience with her

1-12     formidable administrative skills in an effort to effect change in

1-13     health care legislation for the benefit of all members of society;

1-14     and

1-15           WHEREAS, Ms. Martin's extensive community service includes

1-16     active involvement in the organization of World AIDS Day in El

1-17     Paso, which she served as committee cochair in 1992 and as public

1-18     relations officer in 1994; in addition, she is a member of the El

1-19     Paso Homecare Association and the El Paso Chamber of Commerce and

1-20     serves on the continuing education board of the UTEP College of

1-21     Nursing and Allied Health; and

1-22           WHEREAS, Paula E. Martin's longtime service to the El Paso

1-23     community and her willingness to take an active role in behalf of

1-24     the citizens of this fine city have earned her the respect and

 2-1     admiration of her family, friends, and coworkers, and the members

 2-2     of this chamber are pleased to recognize her for her many

 2-3     achievements at this time; now, therefore, be it

 2-4           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-5     Legislature hereby commend Paula E. Martin for her dedication to

 2-6     enhancing the health and well-being of her fellow Texans and extend

 2-7     to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness in

 2-8     the future; and, be it further

 2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-10     prepared for Ms. Martin as an expression of high regard by the

2-11     Texas House of Representatives.
