R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Fort Worth Star-Telegram bureau chief Jay Root and

 1-2     reporter Carlos Sanchez have faithfully related the news of this

 1-3     session's legislative proceedings back home to their eager readers

 1-4     in Cowtown, and although they are generally more comfortable

 1-5     reporting the news of others, they have each recently made news

 1-6     themselves, though not without considerable assistance from their

 1-7     wives; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, Mr. Root and his wife, Corine, welcomed their

 1-9     handsome new son, Benjamin Root, into the world last week, while

1-10     Mr. Sanchez and his wife, Sandy, were blessed with a darling baby

1-11     boy, Armand Antonio Sanchez, on January 13, 1997, just one day

1-12     before the start of the legislative session; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Although balancing the demands of newborns and news

1-14     stories is undoubtedly challenging, Mr. Root and Mr. Sanchez have

1-15     proven themselves more than up to the task, and it gives the

1-16     members of this chamber great pleasure to congratulate them at this

1-17     time; now, therefore, be it

1-18           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-19     Legislature hereby officially welcome Armand Sanchez and Benjamin

1-20     Root as new citizens of Texas and congratulate Carlos and Sandy

1-21     Sanchez and Jay and Corine Root on the births of their sons; and,

1-22     be it further

1-23           RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared

1-24     for the Sanchez and Root families as an expression of highest

 2-1     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
