                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Eulogia Guerra Caballero's remarkable life has

 1-2     encompassed much of the 20th century, and this notable Texan's many

 1-3     accomplishments are truly worthy of special praise and recognition;

 1-4     and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Born February 6, 1907, in Rio Grande City,

 1-6     Mrs. Caballero moved with her family to Yorktown the next year, but

 1-7     in 1917 they returned to the Rio Grande Valley as part of a wagon

 1-8     train they formed with other families, eventually settling in

 1-9     Mercedes; and

1-10           WHEREAS, Mrs. Caballero and her family often worked in the

1-11     Brownsville area, and it was there that she made the acquaintance

1-12     of a young man named Narciso Partida; they soon married and enjoyed

1-13     a relationship characterized by deep mutual affection and

1-14     admiration until his passing; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Through the years, Mrs. Caballero has drawn her

1-16     greatest joy and inspiration from her large and loving family, and

1-17     she takes great pride in each new generation; she was also

1-18     fortunate in finding love again, with her second husband, Sabas S.

1-19     Caballero; and

1-20           WHEREAS, Over the course of her long and fruitful life,

1-21     Mrs. Caballero has been witness to the events of a remarkable time

1-22     in history, and the great insight and wisdom she has drawn from her

1-23     varied experience has enriched the lives of all who know her; and

1-24           WHEREAS, Eulogia Guerra Caballero has distinguished herself

 2-1     as a vital and valued member of the community, and it is indeed

 2-2     fitting at this time to recognize her great contributions to the

 2-3     Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it

 2-4           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-5     Legislature hereby honor Eulogia Guerra Caballero as an outstanding

 2-6     Texan and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued

 2-7     happiness; and, be it further

 2-8           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-9     prepared for Mrs. Caballero as an expression of high regard by the

2-10     Texas House of Representatives.
