                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor

 1-2     the Olney Masonic Lodge for 100 years of dedicated service to the

 1-3     citizens of its community; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, One of the world's oldest secular fraternal

 1-5     societies, the Masonic order has existed in its present form since

 1-6     1717, and for more than two centuries its members have adhered to

 1-7     the organization's three main principles, brotherly love, relief,

 1-8     and truth, while striving to reach their highest potential; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Since its founding on December 3, 1896, the Olney

1-10     Masonic Lodge has pursued these noble goals through its involvement

1-11     in a number of initiatives designed to aid orphaned, elderly, and

1-12     infirm individuals in the area, and by doing so, it has helped to

1-13     enhance the quality of life of countless individuals; and

1-14           WHEREAS, For the past century, the brethren of the Olney

1-15     Masonic Lodge have served God and their community in myriad ways,

1-16     and their outstanding efforts in behalf of others are truly

1-17     deserving of special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it

1-18           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-19     Legislature hereby congratulate the Olney Masonic Lodge on the

1-20     occasion of its centennial and commend the officers and members of

1-21     that organization for the many significant contributions they have

1-22     made to the betterment of their community; and, be it further

1-23           RESOLVED,   That an official copy of this resolution be

1-24     prepared for the Olney Masonic Lodge as an expression of high

 2-1     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
