                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, On March 6, 1997, Maria Isabel Sanchez reached a

 1-2     significant milestone in her full and generous life when she

 1-3     celebrated her 46th birthday; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, A native of Texas, this outstanding individual was

 1-5     born March 6, 1951, in Brownsville, to Enedina and Edmundo Sosa,

 1-6     and was the eldest child in the close-knit Sosa family; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, Selflessly dedicated to the welfare of her siblings,

 1-8     Ms. Sanchez sacrificed her own educational opportunities to ensure

 1-9     that her younger sisters would obtain a high school diploma; and

1-10           WHEREAS, The mother of a son and a daughter, Francisco

1-11     Sanchez, Jr. and Isa Yvette Munoz, Ms. Sanchez was an active

1-12     volunteer in her children's schools, and in reward, she now has an

1-13     eagerly anticipated opportunity to spoil her grandson, Jacob

1-14     Anthony Munoz; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Endowed with a giving and compassionate nature, this

1-16     exemplary Texan works with mentally retarded and handicapped

1-17     children, and she is a devoted participant in church functions; and

1-18           WHEREAS, The birthday of this admirable woman provides a

1-19     fitting opportunity to honor her for the boundless joy and hope she

1-20     has imparted to all who have shared her love and friendship

1-21     throughout the years; now, therefore, be it

1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-23     Legislature hereby congratulate Maria Isabel Sanchez on the

1-24     occasion of her 46th birthday and extend to her warmest best wishes

 2-1     for continued happiness in the future; and, be it further

 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-3     prepared for Ms. Sanchez as an expression of high regard by the

 2-4     Texas House of Representatives.
