No. 1392 75R17595 BNL-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Lathan Withers has contributed greatly to the 1-2 betterment of his community over the past 55 years, and the naming 1-3 of Guthrie's 4-H Arena in his honor is indeed an appropriate 1-4 tribute to this esteemed Texan; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A resident of King County for more than half a 1-6 century, Mr. Withers worked at the 6666 Ranch from 1946 to 1994, 1-7 earning a reputation as both a hardworking cowboy and a tireless 1-8 supporter of the community and its youth; he became a leader in the 1-9 4-H program as soon as his son was old enough to ride a horse, and 1-10 he continued to share his advice and wisdom with 4-H and FFA 1-11 participants for many years; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Through his ongoing involvement in his community, 1-13 Lathan Withers has embodied the finest Lone Star traditions of 1-14 loyalty, integrity, and service to one's fellow Texans, and he is 1-15 truly deserving of special legislative recognition at this time; 1-16 now, therefore, be it 1-17 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-18 Legislature hereby honor Lathan Withers for his outstanding civic 1-19 leadership and extend to him warmest best wishes for continued 1-20 success and happiness in the future; and, be it further 1-21 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 1-22 prepared for Mr. Withers as an expression of high regard by the 1-23 Texas House of Representatives.
