AN ACT
1-1 relating to Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board contracts
1-2 with Texas Chiropractic College and Parker College of Chiropractic.
1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-4 SECTION 1. Section 61.772, Education Code, is amended to
1-5 read as follows:
1-6 Sec. 61.772. CONTRACTS WITH TEXAS CHIROPRACTIC COLLEGE AND
1-7 PARKER COLLEGE OF CHIROPRACTIC. The [(a) Except as provided by
1-8 Subsection (b) of this section, the] board may contract with Texas
1-9 Chiropractic College and Parker College of Chiropractic for the
1-10 preparation or instruction of Texas resident undergraduate
1-11 chiropractic students as doctors of chiropractic.
1-12 [(b) The board may not contract with Texas Chiropractic
1-13 College and Parker College of Chiropractic if a public school of
1-14 chiropractic is established.]
1-15 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the
1-16 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-17 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-18 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-19 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-20 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-21 passage, and it is so enacted.
