                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

                                       AN ACT

 1-1     relating to funding of the Medicaid disproportionate share program

 1-2     through an assessment imposed against certain hospitals and

 1-3     hospital districts.

 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

 1-5           SECTION 1.  Chapter 2, Acts of the 72nd Legislature, 1st

 1-6     Called Session, 1991 (Article 4494q-2, Vernon's Texas Civil

 1-7     Statutes), is repealed.

 1-8           SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the

 1-9     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an

1-10     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the

1-11     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several

1-12     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,

1-13     and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its

1-14     passage, and it is so enacted.
