AN ACT
1-1 relating to the lease of space for a state agency from another
1-2 governmental entity.
1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-4 SECTION 1. Section 2167.051, Government Code, is amended to
1-5 read as follows:
1-6 Sec. 2167.051. LEASING SPACE FROM ANOTHER GOVERNMENTAL
1-7 ENTITY. Space may be leased:
1-8 (1) through an interagency contract from another state
1-9 agency; or
1-10 (2) through a negotiated contract from:
1-11 (A) the federal government;
1-12 (B) a political subdivision, including a county,
1-13 municipality, school district, water or irrigation district,
1-14 hospital district, council of governments, or regional planning
1-15 commission; [or]
1-16 (C) a statewide Texas public retirement system
1-17 in a commercial building that is completely owned, directly or
1-18 indirectly, by the retirement system; or
1-19 (D) a children's advocacy center established
1-20 under Subchapter E, Chapter 264, Family Code.
1-21 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the
1-22 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-23 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
2-1 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
2-2 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
2-3 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
2-4 passage, and it is so enacted.
