 1-6                            A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

 1-7                                   AN ACT

 1-8     relating to Cooper Lake State Park.

 1-9           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

1-10           SECTION 1.  Chapter 22, Parks and Wildlife Code, is amended

1-11     by adding Subchapter U to read as follows:

1-12                    SUBCHAPTER U.  COOPER LAKE STATE PARK

1-13           Sec. 22.281.  JURISDICTION.  Cooper Lake State Park, located

1-14     in Delta and Hopkins counties, is under the jurisdiction of the

1-15     department.

1-16           Sec. 22.282.  SIGNS.  The Texas Department of Transportation

1-17     may not erect a sign that refers to:

1-18                 (1)  Cooper Lake State Park by a name other than Cooper

1-19     Lake State Park; or

1-20                 (2)  the lake at Cooper Lake State Park by a name other

1-21     than Cooper Lake.

1-22           Sec. 22.283.  PUBLICATIONS.  The state may not refer to

1-23     Cooper Lake State Park by a name other than Cooper Lake State Park

1-24     in any state publication, including a map or brochure.

1-25           SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the

1-26     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an

1-27     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the

1-28     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several

1-29     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,

1-30     and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its

1-31     passage, and it is so enacted.
