                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

                                       AN ACT

 1-1     relating to the exception for certain officers from the

 1-2     registration requirements of The Property Taxation Professional

 1-3     Certification Act.

 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

 1-5           SECTION 1.  Article 8885, Revised Statutes, is amended by

 1-6     adding Section 11B to read as follows:

 1-7           Sec. 11B.  EXCEPTION FOR OFFICER WHO HAS APPROVED AN

 1-8     INTERLOCAL GOVERNMENTAL CONTRACT.  A county tax assessor-collector

 1-9     who has approved a contract pursuant to Section 6.24(b), Tax Code,

1-10     providing for another taxing unit or an appraisal district to

1-11     perform duties related to the assessment or collection of taxes for

1-12     the county is exempt from Section 11 of this Act.

1-13           SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the

1-14     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an

1-15     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the

1-16     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several

1-17     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,

1-18     and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its

1-19     passage, and it is so enacted.
