1-6 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-7 AN ACT
1-8 relating to certain reimbursements of expenses for members of the
1-9 Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists.
1-10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-11 SECTION 1. Section 7, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
1-12 Act (Article 4512c-1, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), is amended to
1-13 read as follows:
1-14 Sec. 7. COMPENSATION. A member of the board may not receive
1-15 compensation for serving on the board. A member is entitled to the
1-16 per diem as set by the General Appropriations Act [legislature] for
1-17 each day that the member performs functions as a member of the
1-18 board and[. A member] is [not] entitled to reimbursement for
1-19 [travel] expenses [other than transportation expenses. A member is
1-20 entitled to reimbursement for transportation expenses] as provided
1-21 by the General Appropriations Act.
1-22 SECTION 2. This Act applies only to a travel expense
1-23 incurred on or after the effective date of this Act. A travel
1-24 expense incurred before the effective date of this Act is governed
1-25 by the law in effect on the date that it was incurred, and the
1-26 former law is continued in effect for this purpose.
1-27 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-28 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-29 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-30 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-31 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-32 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-33 passage, and it is so enacted.
