                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

                                       AN ACT

1-1 relating to the operation of a motor home dealership by a motor

 1-2 home manufacturer.

1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

1-4 SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding the provisions of

1-5 Subdivision (25), Subsection (b), Section 5.02, Texas Motor Vehicle

1-6 Commission Code (Article 4413(36), Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes),

 1-7 a person who, on June 7, 1995, held both a motor home dealer's

1-8 license and a motor home manufacturer's license issued under the

1-9 provisions of the Texas Motor Vehicle Commission Code (Article

1-10 4413(36), Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), may hold both a license

1-11 as a motor home dealer and a license as a motor home manufacturer

1-12 under the Texas Motor Vehicle Commission Code (Article 4413(36),

1-13 Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes).

1-14 (b) Subsection (a) of this section does not authorize a

1-15 person to operate as a manufacturer and a dealer of any vehicle or

1-16 type of vehicle except a motor home, as that term is defined by the

1-17 Texas Motor Vehicle Commission Code (Article 4413(36), Vernon's

1-18 Texas Civil Statutes).

1-19 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the

1-20 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an

1-21 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the

1-22 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several

1-23 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,

2-1 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its

2-2 passage, and it is so enacted.
