No. 1221 By: Luna 1-7 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-8 AN ACT 1-9 relating to restricting written reports required from public school 1-10 employees. 1-11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-12 SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 11, Education Code, is 1-13 amended by adding Section 11.164 to read as follows: 1-14 Sec. 11.164. RESTRICTING WRITTEN REPORTS. On an annual 1-15 basis, the board of trustees of each school district shall, after 1-16 soliciting recommendations from each campus-level committee and the 1-17 district-level committee, consider the number and length of written 1-18 reports that employees of the district are required to prepare. 1-19 SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 1997-1998 1-20 school year. 1-21 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 1-22 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-23 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-24 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-25 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-26 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-27 passage, and it is so enacted. 1-28 * * * * *
