By Wentworth S.B. No. 1879 75R2009 KKA-D A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the powers of the Lower Colorado River Authority in 1-3 Williamson County. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Section 26, Chapter 7, Acts of the 43rd 1-6 Legislature, 4th Called Session, 1934 (Article 8280-107, Vernon's 1-7 Texas Civil Statutes), is amended to read as follows: 1-8 Sec. 26. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, 1-9 the district may exercise all powers within Lampasas or Williamson 1-10 County that it may otherwise exercise within the 10 counties 1-11 specified in Section 1 of this Act, except that the district may 1-12 not provide water or wastewater services in the portion of Lampasas 1-13 or Williamson County outside the Colorado River watershed without 1-14 the consent of the Brazos River Authority. 1-15 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-16 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-17 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-18 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-19 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-20 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-21 passage, and it is so enacted.
