No. 4 1-2 (In the Senate - Filed January 9, 1997; January 15, 1997, 1-3 read first time and referred to Committee on Administration; 1-4 January 22, 1997, reported favorably by the following vote: Yeas 1-5 7, Nays 0; January 22, 1997, sent to printer.) 1-6 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-7 WHEREAS, The Texas DeMolay Association is widely acclaimed 1-8 and esteemed for its success in developing leadership and in 1-9 nurturing good citizenship and patriotism in young men; and 1-10 WHEREAS, The Texas DeMolay Association is sponsoring a 1-11 legislative seminar to educate its members in the process of 1-12 democratic government, both in theory and in practice; and 1-13 WHEREAS, This valuable and comprehensive educational program 1-14 will attract participants from throughout the state to acquaint 1-15 DeMolay members with legislative procedures; and 1-16 WHEREAS, The DeMolay legislative seminar is to be held in 1-17 Austin on February 15 and 16, 1997, and February 21 and 22, 1998; 1-18 and 1-19 WHEREAS, The Texas Legislature heartily endorses the goals 1-20 and ideals of the Texas DeMolay Association legislative seminar; 1-21 now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas, in 1-23 accordance with senate and house rules of procedure and policies of 1-24 the Senate Administration Committee and the House Administration 1-25 Committee, hereby grant the Texas DeMolay Association permission to 1-26 use the chambers of the senate and house of representatives in the 1-27 State Capitol on February 15 and 16, 1997, and February 21 and 22, 1-28 1998, for its legislative seminar, unless the Texas Senate and 1-29 Texas House of Representatives are in session on those dates. 1-30 * * * * *
