No. 7 75R3583 JTR-D CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, On January 24, 1997, Mary Anne Seale will be named 1-2 Plano's Citizen of the Year, and this distinguished woman's 1-3 lifetime of service to her fellow Texans is indeed worthy of 1-4 special praise and recognition at this time; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Seale's commitment to helping others was 1-6 evident from her choice of profession; after receiving her 1-7 bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin, 1-8 Mrs. Seale taught first at the Texas School for the Deaf and then 1-9 at the Callier Hearing and Speech Center in Dallas, and more 1-10 recently she served as special events coordinator for Collin County 1-11 Community College; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Her career as a teacher and administrator represents 1-13 only a small fraction of Mrs. Seale's contributions; her active 1-14 involvement in the life of her hometown has encompassed dozens of 1-15 organizations, projects, and agencies, and among the groups that 1-16 have benefited from her knowledgeable leadership are the Junior 1-17 League of Plano, Plano Youth Leadership, the Substance Abuse 1-18 Prevention Agency of Plano, Leadership Plano, the Volunteer Center 1-19 of Plano, and the Parker Women's Club; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Mrs. Seale is also a valued member of Bethel 1-21 Christian Reform Church, and she has drawn strength and inspiration 1-22 from this community of worship; in lending her outstanding 1-23 organizational skills to a number of the church's committees, she 1-24 has helped the church achieve its aims while affirming her own 2-1 faith; and 2-2 WHEREAS, Though she can take justifiable pride in her many 2-3 impressive civic and professional accomplishments, Mrs. Seale's 2-4 greatest source of joy and sustenance is her loving, close-knit 2-5 family, and she and her husband Don take great pride in their two 2-6 sons, Mark and Greg; and 2-7 WHEREAS, In dedicating herself to the betterment of the world 2-8 around her, Mary Anne Seale has earned great affection and respect, 2-9 not only from her family and many friends, but also from countless 2-10 neighbors and fellow citizens, and it is fitting that she be 2-11 honored for her noteworthy efforts; now, therefore, be it 2-12 RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas 2-13 hereby congratulate Mary Anne Seale on her selection as Plano's 2-14 Citizen of the Year and extend to her sincere best wishes for 2-15 continued success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it 2-16 further 2-17 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-18 prepared for Mrs. Seale as an expression of highest regard by the 2-19 Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
