SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
1-1 WHEREAS, Pamela W. Reese is the first woman honored by Delta
1-2 Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at The University of Texas at
1-3 Austin by being named an Honorary Initiate during the chapter's
1-4 90th birthday celebration and, thus, joins her daughter, Shelly, as
1-5 an Alpha Delta Pi; and
1-6 WHEREAS, Pamela W. Reese has provided exceptional leadership
1-7 to Delta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi through two consecutive terms as
1-8 president of the Alpha Delta Pi Mother's Club, and she was named
1-9 "Parent of the Year" in 1995-1996 and 1996-1997; and
1-10 WHEREAS, Pamela and her family made a trip to Las Vegas
1-11 shortly after her initiation and, in true Alpha Delta Pi style,
1-12 posed for a picture with the MGM Lion; and
1-13 WHEREAS, Mrs. Reese has generously opened her home to
1-14 numerous Delta Chapter and alumnae activities, including
1-15 Valentine's celebrations, during the past four years; and
1-16 WHEREAS, Pamela W. Reese has served as a surrogate Mom to
1-17 those Alpha Delta Pi women whose real mothers live out of town by
1-18 sharing her home, her love, her listening skills, and her very wise
1-19 advice; and
1-20 WHEREAS, Mrs. Reese has been tireless in her service to the
1-21 Delta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at The University of Texas
1-22 at Austin through her contributions to Rush and Parent's Weekend,
1-23 decorating for Christmas, and assisting in many other projects; and
2-1 WHEREAS, Michael S. Reese is to be equally commended for his
2-2 patience, support, and encouragement in a year in which both of his
2-3 "best girls" have served as president; now, therefore, be it
2-4 RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas,
2-5 hereby congratulate and commend Pamela W. Reese for her service to
2-6 Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at The University of Texas at Austin; and,
2-7 be it further
2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-9 prepared for Pamela W. Reese as an expression of high regard and
2-10 esteem by the Texas Legislature.
