No. 94 1-2 (In the Senate - Filed May 14, 1997; May 16, 1997, read first 1-3 time and referred to Committee on Administration; May 18, 1997, 1-4 reported favorably by the following vote: Yeas 6, Nays 0; 1-5 May 18, 1997, sent to printer.) 1-6 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-7 WHEREAS, The Natural Resources Foundation was created in 1992 1-8 to provide a totally diverse forum for the discussion and study of 1-9 natural resources; and 1-10 WHEREAS, In accordance with that mission, the foundation has 1-11 created the Natural Resources Academies to provide intensive 1-12 studies concerning our natural resources and their role in everyday 1-13 life; and 1-14 WHEREAS, The Natural Resources Academies, in conjunction with 1-15 Texas colleges, universities, and centers for resource management, 1-16 will provide state of the art education on natural resource issues 1-17 to teachers of our next generation, other educators, and natural 1-18 resource managers; and 1-19 WHEREAS, The Academies are based on cutting-edge information 1-20 and practical examples of sound science, working in harmony with 1-21 the economics of today; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas 1-23 hereby commend the Natural Resources Foundation of Texas for its 1-24 work in establishing the Natural Resources Academies. 1-25 * * * * *
