 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in

 1-4     recognizing Jean Ruth Atkinson, who is retiring after nearly nine

 1-5     years of outstanding service with the Office of the Comptroller of

 1-6     Public Accounts and 26 years of service with the state; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, Jean Atkinson's successful career with the state has

 1-8     included service with the Texas Department of Mental Health and

 1-9     Mental Retardation, the Texas Youth Commission, and the Texas Parks

1-10     and Wildlife Department; and

1-11           WHEREAS, Since joining the Office of the Comptroller of Public

1-12     Accounts on July 1, 1988, she has handled her responsibilities with

1-13     exceptional alacrity and dedication; and

1-14           WHEREAS, She is well known for her first-rate organizational

1-15     skills and for her management expertise; after working in Budget

1-16     and Application Systems, she served as manager of the Uniform

1-17     Statewide Payroll ACR and Test section of the Fiscal Management

1-18     Division; and

1-19           WHEREAS, Jean Atkinson is an outdoors enthusiast who enjoys

1-20     hiking, camping, and gardening; she is the proud mother of

1-21     Kelly Atkinson, and she loves to spend time with her six pets; and

1-22           WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished lady with a warm

1-23     sense of humor, Jean Atkinson is beloved and respected by her

 2-1     colleagues at work, and her presence at the Office of the

 2-2     Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now,

 2-3     therefore, be it

 2-4           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

 2-5     75th Legislature, hereby commend Jean Ruth Atkinson on her

 2-6     exceptional career in the Office of the Comptroller of Public

 2-7     Accounts and extend to her best wishes for the retirement years

 2-8     ahead; and, be it further

 2-9           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her

2-10     as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
